We went to a silent auction tonight (pirate theme, hence the costume). 99.9% of it was for grown ups, but Ethan found a toy John Deere Leaf Blower.
He stood by it for 2.5 hours, leaving only to go to the bathroom and when we made him eat. Shockingly, another kid (waaaaaay to old to be interested) kept coming by and upping the price.
Pulling out my trusty iPhone, I went to find the Actual Selling Price of this item, and found it it was SOLD OUT everywhere.
A great deal of anxiety ensued, but he did end up getting it, for $20.
He was also the talk of the party, as everyone walked by and saw the kid n the pirate costume hanging out near the toy leaf-blower.
On the way home he said “I think we ought to bring it with us on all our walks in case our feet get stuck in leaves.”
